One beach is dog friendly all year, the other beaches have dog bans May – September
Bovisands has quite a few beaches and coves to explore and is just down the road from Wembury and Wembury Point. Making it the perfect coastal path adventure.
The parking is pay and display and there are two car parks you can park in. One that we use the most is Crownhill Bay car park, Plymouth, PL9 0AT. When using this car park you can park anywhere in the allocated spaces or drive right down to the end and park on the grass. There is also Bovisands Car park, Bovisand Ln, Wembury, Bovisand, Plymouth PL9 0AD. This is the other side of the bay.

Parking is privately managed and they are very strict with issuing tickets! You can pay at the machine or using RingGo.
From Bovisands car park you can walk down the steps (there are quite a few!) and you will find yourself on the biggest beach there, which is called Bovisands 1. This beach is dog friendly all year and is huge when the tide is out.

If you park at the Crownhill bay car park, you can access all the smaller coves and carry on the coast path. There are lots of little coves you can explore but there are a few bigger ones called Bovi 2 and Bovi 3. These have steps to them but are manageable! These beaches have a dog ban May 1st to September 30th. However, as previously mentioned if you walk along the coast path you will find coves with no restrictions!
There is also a Café, shop and toilets on site as well, which is really handy!
