Lopwell dam is a beautiful spot along the River Plym (the river that keeps on giving!)
You can find it with this address: Lopwell Dam, Plymouth PL6 7BZ. There are a few directions you can reach it from but the roads leading there are very narrow, so take ease when driving on these roads.

There is a free car park there and in the summer there is a café open!
Please check the tide before visiting! You can only cross at low tide, so make sure you keep an eye on the time once you are the other side!
Once you have crossed the Dam, this is where you can walk and explore the history of Lopwell Dam.

There are different paths which you can just wonder and explore or follow a set route (see link below).
There is a lot of history here, as it was a very busy part of the River, connecting the city to places on Dartmoor and transporting goods.

You can see what is left of the old buildings and understand what it used to be like!
This area is also full of wildlife, so keep an eye out for all the different wonderful birds that are around !

If you want to make a day of it, you can also swim or paddleboard on the River.
