This is a beautiful circular walk, on the quieter side of Salcombe harbour.
You can park at Mill Bay National Trust car park. It is free for members but £6 all day for non members. You can pay by using the app PaybyPhone or by calling the number given.
The car park has a lot of bins and toilets, which is great, especially in a car park so remote as this.
Warning – depending on what direction you come, your Sat Nav may take you on the lower road. This road is Tidal. Therefore, you have to be careful and check the tide times. However, you can take the higher road and miss this out. Just check your Sat NAv and if it is taking you through South Pool, then you will be going on the tidal road.
Before you start on your walk, make sure you check out Mill Bay beach. Dogs are allowed on this beach all year but have to be on lead from May to September. This is a lovely sandy beach on the edge of Salcombe Harbour.

From the car park you follow the coastal path up towards Gara Rock. Follow the path round until you see the sign taking you through the trees on the higher path. However, before you take that path, you have to take the lower path down to Sunny Cove beach. This is a fantastic beach, easily accessible from the coast path. Again a beautiful sandy beach!

Once back on the coastal path, you literally cannot go wrong. Keep following it all the way to Gara Rock and Gara Rock Beach, which is right next to Gara Rock Hotel. Here you have a restaurant where you can get some food or drinks!

Once you have finished exploring here, you take the top path past the look out hut. You follow the path all the way back, before you re-join the forest path and back to the car park.
This walk is 3.5 miles and has plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the view or catch your breath!
