South Forda Park – A tranquil place to stay in North Devon

As lockdown restrictions have eased in England and we are now allowed to stay in self contained accommodation with your household, we decided to book a staycation! We came across South Forda Park as they had some great lodges to stay in. We picked the Pengelly lodge and we were not disappointed!

When we arrived we noticed how beautiful the grounds were. Set in 9 acres of countryside, you really notice how peaceful and beautiful this place is.

When we entered the lodge, you could tell it had been fitted to the best standard. The open plan kitchen, dining and living room was spacious and modern. The kitchen had all the mod-cons that you need for a comfortable stay. There is also a log burner in the living room, to keep you toasty in the evening! Good for the dogs to dry off in front of, after a day on the beach!

There are two bedrooms in this lodge, one with a very soft and comfortable double bed and the other had two single beds (which we did not need to use) but I am sure these can also be pushed together to make a double if needed.

The bathroom was a beautiful wet room set up, again really modern and beautifully decorated.

The main pull to this place was of course the fact that they accepted dogs! And this is why we decided to do this blog, so we can share the best places to stay with dogs and this place is definitely up there with one of the best!

The lodge has a secure decking out the front, where you can sit and relax and not worry about the dogs getting out.

The lodge as previously stated is on a lovely 9 acre plot and has some lovely fields, woodland and lakes to explore. The dogs loved running around in the morning and when we got back. It was so quiet and peaceful, I don’t think they wanted to leave!

The owners of the lodges are so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back this year!
